![]() "To roll back from April's updates, users would need to uninstall KB5001330 and revert to March's Windows 10 KB5000802 Patch Tuesday update. UPDATE 3: The problem is caused by Windows Security Update (KB5001330) So it seems like there is a Windows 10 update floating around that may cause issues with Retroarch. ![]() I restored my system and now the problem is gone. There was an option to check what was affected by the update and lo and behold Retroarch was on the top of the list. The restore point was made because there was a Windows 10 update. UPDATE 2: I noticed when I was creating a system restore point before updating my video drivers that there was an automatic restore point made the day before the issue started. Still looking for a solution to fix the dual shock problem though. If I use a keyboard or 360 controller the crackling disappears. UPDATE: The issue seems to be with dual shock controllers. ![]() I've tried reinstalling and the problem persists. Any help is greatly appreciated! I was half way through Resident Evil: Director's Cut when this happened. But now the audio seems to crack no matter what I do. I use the g-sync setting when using my computer monitor and the other method when using my tv. When I first installed Retroarch I experienced audio crackling, but I managed to solve it by following these instructions. I think I accidentally applied messed up shader settings as a core/global preset, but now even without shaders on I am still getting the audio crackling. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but last night I was fiddling with the settings and I think I might have broken something because now when I open Retroarch there is a bad cracking sound when I'm using either core. I have 3 more parts coming out showing the other awesome games to play in 4k from the Playstaion 1 series.I've had Retroarch set up and working for a couple weeks with Beetle PSX and Bettle PSX HW. Here are the games I included in my first video series, demonstrating the games running with all enhancements 4k. Just close it with double-escape key and relaunch after changing the settings. Some of these functions do enable on the fly, but even the GPU resolution I noticed glitches unless I fully exited the core and went back in. NOTE: Always fully restart the core, not 'restart game', but actually exit. In general I liked it on a lot more.Ĭd access method: async <- speed up load timesĬd loading speed: 4x <- speed upload times, zero incompatibilities experienced Widescreen mode: On <- Some games you notice texture issues or objects that are not rendered off screen. GPU rasterizer overclock: 4x <- Did not notice any improvement Just the best ever.ĬPU frequency scaling: 140% <- This gave a nice fps boost to games PGXP Corrective Testuring: <- PGXP IS FROM THE GODS. PGXP Vertex Cache: On <- PGXP IS FROM THE GODS. It does not contain any copyrighted material by third parties. RetroArch is free/open source software, available under the GNU GPL 3.0 license. PGXP Operation Mode: Memory Only <- PGXP IS FROM THE GODS. Graphics: Any GPU and driver that supports OpenGL v2.0 or higher. Texture filtering: Nearest (all the others just dont seem right to me) Plug & Play Fully Loaded Game System Compatible with Xbox/PS1 Controller. Renderer: Hardware (OpenGL) - I had more issues with Vulkan, OpenGL was great It says to put the two BIOS files in the libretro system folder but that. My favorite settings playing these games 4k with Beetle PSX HW: When I enter the joysticks configuration menu, only the 1st and 2nd players have the option to choose the playStation Controller option in the device type (only these two josyticks work). Swap between them if you encounter issues. When I enter the configuration options of the controls, in a 'playstation 1' game, I see the possibility of configuring a total of 5 joysticks. It removes 90% of the wobbling/texture glitches, and the Line-to-Quad hack is spot on.ĬONTROLLER setting: Some games ONLY work with the "Playstation Controller" and some work with the "Dualshock Controller". On some games you notice texture issues, however. With ALL of the enhancements enabled, I had showstopping issues with less than a dozen games. You can see things much farther away with detail, and it helps gameplay immensely because you can tell the difference between a powerup and an enemy, etc.Ĭompatability is AMAZING. I did a video comparison of native resolution with twisted metal versus 16x upscale here. Yes, you can vastly increase the FPS of most of these games. My focus was on enhancing the games and finding out which ones were able to be more fun and look better with upscaling and modern emulation. I've played through just about all of the NA PSX library. I've had a lot of time in the evenings due to the coronavirus lockdown.
